Disorganized. This organized!
Just before the year ends, I’ve decided to clean up all the clutter in my room.
I’m not really a fan of house work. And I buy stuffs that I don’t need or will ever use. Yes, I can say that I’m quite an impulsive shopper. I buy stuffs just because they tickled me fancy, especially if it’s cute or weird. I’m not sure if this happens to other impulsive buyers or if it’s just me, but usually after I buy the items that I want and once I got home, the feeling of owning that thing: the excitement, the thrill, fades. So most of the time they ended up in the corner of my room untouched, unopened: and they piled up. So before the year ends I’ve decided to clean up and say good bye to the clutter. Yay!
WELCOME TO THE CLUTTER-FREE PINK ROOM!
I started cleaning up around 10 AM with the help of my junior officer, Elvie. Posted below is the picture of my then chaotic room.
Oh! How my mom hates my room every time she enters my room. I actually tried to reason out by buying a door hanger. And this is what my door hanger says:
…but as we all know, it didn’t work out. Nope. My mom didn’t buy it. And every time she enters my room, which she calls “bodega” (or stockroom) , she erupts and nags me to death to clean-up (if not arrange my room). I know this is a lame and overused excuse but I really couldn’t find the time to do so. The last quarter of my 2012 is fully booked. I’m overloaded.
Anyway, we finished sorting, dusting, changing the bedding, and rearranging around 6 PM. That includes lunch break, rests, and in between snacks. We stop from time to time when we find something interesting under the bed, or from the stuffs I bought. The things that you find when you clean up your room, and the things that you thought you don’t have were all hidden in some corners. hah! It’s like treasure hunting! 🙂
And so after 8 hours of backbreaking clean-up and liters of sweat, this is the finish product! taaa-daaaaaahh!!!
NOTE: For you dear readers who don’t personally know me, PINK is not my favorite color. Though you can find that color in every corner of my room. Black and red are my favorite colors. It’s going to be a long story but don’t worry, someday I’ll post about it here. *stay tuned*
Yup! My mom is happy again after seeing this. I know what you’re thinking. I know you’re mind is screaming, “Seeeee!!! Your room is much better!” or “You should do this ALL the time!” or “Stop cluttering!” or the very quotable quote, “YOU ARE A GIRL. Girls SHOULD have clean and tidy room!”. Well, I hate to break this to you, but I already know those lines and as I’ve said, I didn’t have the time. hey! Stop rolling those eyeballs. Ok fine! No excuses about why it was so chaotic…
I got lazy.
Any minute from now, 2012 will have it’s graceful exit. So before the time runs out, I would like to greet you my dear readers a happy New Year. And as what Edith Lovejoy Pierce have said,
“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called “Opportunity” and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”
Have a good one, guys!
