One scrumptious burgerrific afternoon!
One fine afternoon, my high school buddies and I decided to have a little meeting to make our tentative calendar of activities. It’s going to be a long meeting since we have a lot of things to plan (and catching up about each other’s lives) so we decided to look for a good place that could cater what our mind wants and what our belly wants. And that’s how Mom’s Shack came into the picture.
Mom’s Shack is burger joint/coffee shop in Bacolod. They opened March 2013 and is owned and managed by Rem Ibrado-Bayog. Mom’s Shack offers variety of appetizing burgers which you can customize by adding your own favorite ingredient for an additional but affordable price. And let’s not forget about the Batangas brewed coffee, Bicol Express, and Big Ed’s Bacon meal.
When we arrived, we were welcomed by the aroma of delectable burger and a friendly smile from the manager herself. She and her staff offered us the menu and the first thing that came into my mind is to try everything! Yeah, I know I sound like a glutton, but with that scent that welcomed us, who wouldn’t?
Looking at the burgers they offer on the menu and deciding which one to order is a tough decision. You know how it feels when you went to a place for the first time and the moment you stepped in you smelled how palatable the food they serve and you know right there and then that you’re going to experience something special and you’re going to go out of that place with a happy belly because no matter what you order, you know it’s going to be delicious. That’s exactly what happened to me in Mom’s Shack.
It took us a little while to decide which burger to try and since we are friends we share same thoughts and taste: Jezreel, JL, and I ordered the Island Burger. For our drinks, we wanted to have brewed coffee but unfortunately for us, they ran out of coffee just minutes ago when we arrived. In fact, we were lucky that we have the place for ourselves at that time, because usually 2-3 pm is the “coffee rush hour”.
The service was fast and efficient. In just a few minutes, the mouth-watering burger is already right in front of us. Say hello to our Island Burger!
I’m sorry I forgot to warn you that by looking at this picture, it’ll definitely make you want one. Well I don’t blame you. It’s one hell of a seductive burger. Every single cent you shell out for the burger is oh so worth it! And I put my name on it.
So what else are you waiting for? Come visit Mom’s Shack in 94-C Lacson-Taytung Streets, Bacolod City. They are open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, 7 days a week! Feel free to text them before going so you wont have to wait. Yes, I did mention that the service was fast and efficient, but in case you forget, they offer variety of burgers, TASTY BURGERS for that matter and you wouldn’t want to be waiting for long to taste that, right? Send them an SMS at 09232489977 and don’t forget to like their Facebook page: Mom’s Shack.
Still a little lost about the address?
Here’s the map and the instruction on how to reach the burger heaven
- FROM DOWNTOWN AREA:
You need to ride a jeepney that passes by Lacson Street. You can choose between Tangub – Central Market or Alijis – Central Market. Fare is P8.00
- FROM LIBERTAD AREA:
You can ride Bata – Libertad or Mandalagan – Libertad. Get-off the jeepney once it has reached the Libertad-Lacson crossroad. Your marker is the Shell Gasoline Station or the stoplight after Tay Tung High School.
Go ahead and try. And let me know about your Mom’s Shack experience! : )
