THIS IS MY YEAR!
I have a lot of things to be thankful for this year and I know that I couldnt make it without the love, support, and effort from my parents. My parents are always with me, supporting me with whatever decisions I made and encouraging me every step of the way. And though I am already an adult, they dont think twice in scolding me whenever I needed one. And yes, those scoldings and “serious talks” made me a much better person.
I wanted to thank my parents in a much more special way, other than just giving gifts. I wanted to do something special for them, as they’ve already done a lot of special things for me. I want them to feel very much appreciated. I want them to feel they deserve the best. And so, on the 22nd of December, I’ve decided to give them a surprise! 🙂
My parents didnt know I was coming home for Christmas. My new company gave us a 5-day leave to spend the holidays with our family. When I first heard about the holiday leave, the first thing that popped in my mind was to throw a surprise party for my Ma and Pa. (NOTE: I totally forgot about this whole bucket list thing until I saw the picture days after the party was held.)
My parents dont usually throw parties. Usually, for special events like their birthdays or anniversaries, we would just have family dinner in a restaurant. They’ve always lived a simple life and they are very much comfortable with it. This time around, I called some of our closest relatives and family friends to celebrate with us. There isnt really a big event, it was just an ordinary day to be thankful for everything they have done for me and for my two older siblings.
WE ARE NOT FINANCIALLY RICH. Yet, my parents provided us with everything we needed and much more. My siblings and I never experienced how hard life is. Yes, we are very much pampered and well taken cared of. We were sent to the best schools, received weekly allowance that are sometimes more than what we asked for, ate in restaurants that we craved for, and have toys that we wanted. More than the material things that my parents provided for us, they showered us with love, care, guidance, and support that we needed. Life is easy because they were there for us.
And even though life was easy for us, they made sure that we get our piece of scolding if we did something bad or unacceptable. They were never tolerant about bad habits and manners. And up until now, we still get our fair share of chiding. And we appreciate it.
For all their hard work to brought us up to be who we are right now, my parents deserve nothing but the best. This party is my way of showing my appreciation for them. I know it will never be enough to pay up for what they’ve done and for what they’ll do for me and for my siblings, but I know that I’ve made them happy.
I would like to thank everyone who supported my surprise party for Daddykins and Mommyloves.
Uncle Steve and Tita Nilda: The party wouldnt be a success if it wasnt held in the yellow house. Thank you so much for allowing me to held the party there. I will never forget how supportive both of you were for this event. Kisses! 🙂

To everyone who came: thank you so much for coming even though it was just a short notice. I really appreciate it. <3
For those who wasnt able to come: No worries loves, I understand that “It’s that time of the month” where the parties are everywhere and schedules are tight. (And I notified you way too late). Hugs! 🙂
For my Mama and Papa,
Thank you for telling me what I’m capable of. For giving me the support that I needed to build a dream to chase after and for believing that I have the talent to reach my goals. Thank you for being so strict with your rules that I missed out on some moments that could have led me down the wrong path. For standing your ground when I begged to go somewhere or do something that, in hindsight, could have introduced me to things that would jeopardize my future forever. Thank you for understanding when I take a leap of faith. And for supporting me in my journey even if it doesn’t seem logical at times and for recognizing that it’s what I need to do, and for hearing me out. Thank you for showing me what hard work looks like. For showing me that nothing comes easy, and that countless hours of blood, sweat and tears really does pay off.
Thank you for showing me true love in its rarest form, what it feels like, and how it can extend beyond life’s obstacles and challenges. Without each of you, I’d be nowhere near the person I am – and the person I’m still working on becoming. There aren’t enough words in the world to express my appreciation, but I think this is a good start. I love you both!
